Sutton Soup 6 - 6th July 2017
Sutton Soup 3 - 6th October 2016
SUTTON SOUP 9 - 26th April 2018

Our food for the evening was Kellie’s Veg Soup, cooked by the lovely Kellie from the Robin Hood pub, and wholemeal bread made by Heather and

the Bread Club.  It went down a treat.

Well, we’ve done it!  The grand total of funds raised at Sutton Soup 9 broke through the four figure barrier and came in at an absolutely amazing £1040.

A huge, huge thank you to everyone – our best attendance ever at 175 people - who came along to help us raise this record breaking amount, and to our sponsors for the evening, who were Sainsbury’s, Cheam Financial Planning, Digum and Suremind.

Just in case you couldn’t make it on the night, here’s a recap of the pitches for you:

  • Downsyndrome OK – Kathy from Downsyndrome OK pitched for money to run Spangles, a new drama group that has been set up for children with Downs Syndrome in Carshalton.
  • Sutton Women’s Centre – Anna, the chair of Sutton Women’s Centre, pitched to help fund the redecoration and refurbishment of the centre’s crèche.
  • Carshalton Artists Open Studios – Neal and Julie were pitching to raise funds for the Carshalton Artists Open Studios 2018 festival.
  • The Dreaming Tree Project – Penny just set up the Dreaming Tree Project in 2017 and she wanted money to help buy radio aids for deaf children.

It was a good mix of pitchers and a very difficult choice for some, but in the end the money went to Penny and the Dreaming Tree Project.  She said it would go straight to buying a radio aid for a deaf little boy who really needs it and she will be back in July to let us know how it went.

Speaking of which, we heard from Astrid at the Family Learning Hub how they have been spending the £970 they won at Soup 8.  Lots of fun has been had, including a trip to the theatre!  Thanks for coming back Astrid, it was great to hear from you.

Will we match this incredible total raised when we stage Soup 10 in July?  We can but hope!

See you then for more fun and fundraising.
